Faber-Castell mourns death of Count Anton-Wolfgang von Faber-Castell

In a release dated 22nd January 2016, Faber-Castell AG announced the death of group chairman Count Anton-Wolfgang von Faber-Castell. With family by his side, Von Faber-Castell passed away peacefully in Houston, USA, on 21st January after a severe illness. He was 74.

Mr Yandramin Halim, Managing Director of A.W. Faber-Castell Singapore, said on Facebook: “It has been a privilege for me to work with him over the last 26 years to build the Faber-Castell business in Indonesia and beyond. He was really a great and farsighted entrepreneur who focused on sustainability rather than short term profit.

“His great social responsibility as well as towards environment is a good ideal for every businessman. I missed deeply a charismatic leader and a friendly boss,” he added.

It is with great dismay and deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Count Anton-Wolfgang von Faber-Castell, our group chairman. He has passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Houston, USA on 21 January 2016.

We have lost a model businessman, whom we both admired as an extraordinary entrepreneur and a farsighted personality, and who above all was a role model as a fellow human being to us.

Faber-Castell Singapore has prepared an arrangement for those who would like to pen their condolences at our office during office hours (09:00 to 18:00). The memorial arrangements would be held from 27th January (2pm onwards) till 5th February 2016 (12 noon) at the address below ;-
